TCA New London Participates in Wreaths Across America

TCA New London Participates in Wreaths Across America

On Saturday, December 14, all TCA New London cadets participated in National Wreaths Across America Day. Cadets placed wreaths on the graves of veterans at an Albemarle local cemetery, Fairview. 2000 wreaths were placed on graves of veterans and a ceremony was held at Stanly Gardens of Memory to commemorate the occasion. Wreaths Across America in Stanly County is sponsored by American Legion Post 520.

Wreaths Across America is observed the second or third Saturday in December and the National Wreaths Across America program was founded by Morrill Worcester and his wife Karen in 1992. The mission of the organization is to remember, honor and teach our citizens about our veterans and their sacrifice. The organization has grown to now include more than 2 million volunteers in 2018 and over 1700 participating locations in 2019. Please visit the Wreaths Across America website to read the full story of how the organization came into existence and to learn how you can help be a part.
