Class 61 candidates visited the North Carolina National Guard training facility at Camp Butner.
Class 61
Candidates visited the North Carolina National Guard training facility at Camp Butner during Week 2 of the residential phase of the program. As part of the twenty-two (22) week residential program at Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy, candidates spent multiple days at the facility where National Guard members worked with our candidates to improve their fitness levels while teaching them other skills such as map reading, navigation, teamwork, outdoor survival and other skills they can carry with them throughout their lives. Candidates also tackled multiple obstacle courses with the assistance of the National Guard members to help build self-esteem, foster esprit de corps among candidates while overcoming their own physical and mental limitations. At the end of their training at Butner, they learned they were stronger and more capable of facing the challenges ahead of them. A huge thank you to the NCNG for their support!
