New London Class 52 Visits Samarcand

July 17 and 18, TCA New London class 52 cadets visited NC DPS training facility, Samarcand located in Moore County. This two day session was held to allow cadets a chance for more confidence building, team exercises and service to community. Another benefit of the training is the chance to relieve the stress and anxiety the cadets may feel as we approach the beginning of their high school equivalency testing.

During these two days, the cadets participated in various service to community projects, the walk-a-thon and completed the 16 obstacles on a specially designed course to test their physical and mental strength. Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy state director, COL (Ret) Edward Timmons paid a visit on the 18th to congratulate the cadets for what they have accomplished so far and to motivate them to push to the end.
