TCA NL Class 58 Blood Drive

On Wednesday, July 13, Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy – New London Class 58 held their class blood drive. The blood drive is held to help teach service to community to ChalleNGe cadets, one of the eight core components of the program.

The goal was set at 20 pints and TCA New London met and surpassed this goal collecting 31 pints from cadets and staff members at TCA. According to the American Red Cross website a single donation will save more than one life. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and or platelets and blood/platelets cannot be manufactured, they can only come from volunteer donors.
