During the first week immediately after being cleared for physical activity, candidates are introduced to team-building exercises. The focus of these activities is to instill trust and confidence among the team members. Service to the Community is a requirement for all Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy Cadets. Cadets are required to complete a minimum of 80 hours of service to the community and or conversation projects. Cadets must perform four of the 80 hours with their mentor, and this is done during the two home passes cadets receive.
