TCA-Salemburg Cadets Participate in the North Carolina General Assembly House Page Program

TCA-Salemburg Cadets Participate in the North Carolina General Assembly House Page Program

Select cadets from the Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy-Salemburg Class-60, recently participated in the “Youth Learning Through Serving” North Carolina House Page program.

The Page program allows those young men and women who participate, to be actively engaged in, and directly observe, the legislative process for the state of North Carolina.  These cadets spend four days contributing and assisting legislative members of the North Carolina House while they conduct the business of making the laws that govern our great state.

The General Assembly website states “House Pages are important to the operation of the General Assembly as they assist the Members and staff of the House during the legislative session.” The cadets engage in daily legislative sessions, and committee meetings, and perform such duties as delivering messages and materials within the legislative complex, completing mailings for Members, and passing out documents or running errands in the House Chamber during daily sessions.
