TCA Salemburg Class 59 Samarcand Training Academy
Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy-Salemburg candidates received their ‘military training” in Physical Fitness, Road Marches, Land Navigation, and the Obstacle Course. The first phase of the ChalleNGe program is known as “Acclimation.” Acclimation is the first two weeks of the program and is designed to be the most stressful. Candidates are faced with the regimented daily military structure beginning with 0530 am wake-ups, discipline, and daily physical fitness. Candidates participate in a multitude of physically demanding activities, each of which are designed to individually test candidate levels of physical fitness, boost their self-confidence, and validate the benefits of teamwork. This three-day training event is normally conducted at the National Guard Training Facility Camp Butner. National Guard unit training and deployment preparation required this class to utilize the Samarcand Training Facility of the Department of Public Safety.
